mDAC Summit is the only place - where creative apps meet artistic people. It's a family friendly showcase of art & creativity and a celebration of the MobileArt Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are creating on their mobile devices, and share what they are learning.
The one-day workshop kicks off on Saturday, March 5th with a packed program of talks and hands on demos attracting artists and educators from across the Santa Cruz county. Workshop covers expert instruction in use of major art apps developed for the iPad or mobile tablet. To encourage and inspire their imaginations, students will be given a project including portraits, landscape, still-life or even abstract art depending on the student’s individual creative choices. At the end, each student will walk away with a portfolio of digital art they can display and share digitally or in printed format.

Mobile Artists range from creators to designers to photographers to film-makers to sculptors to moms and pops who are using their mobile devices/iPads/iphone to create. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of mDAC is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community. The original mDAC Summit was held in Palo Alto, CA and in 2015 celebrated its third annual show with some 100+ mobile artists and 500 people in attendance. Independently organized Mini mDACs are now being produced around the United States —including right here in Santa Cruz. This mini mDAC is supported by Silicon Valley based Mobile Art Academy and Santa Cruz based Scribbles Institute.
