This year is unique! We are going Hybrid, with physical exhibition and virtual conference. Our 2021 mDAC Virtual Summit brings you 6 unique online workshops from leading artists and photographers, covering a variety of online art genres and techniques.
Saturday, July 17th features three hour-long online workshops each of which will be recorded so you can join live or watch later. The welcoming speech will start at 9AM PST with the mDAC 2021 online host Sumit Vishwarkarma, founder of Mobile Art Academy. Sunday, July 18th follows a similar format with three one-hour long online presentations via Zoom. Attendees can watch the entire conference LIVE using Zoom, or can visit each workshop online once recorded. Each day has optional speaker break-out sessions

Daniel Ibanez : ArtRage Vitae Still Life Painting
Daniel Ibanez will bring his decades of oil painting experience to digital painting with Artrage Vitae Mobile on the iPad! He will be teaching a time tested and vibrant method of painting that translates to any subject matter, focusing on values, shapes and edges. In this session, Daniel will use still life to tackle the fundamentals of digital painting. Paint alongside Daniel and learn how easy realistic digital oil painting can be with the newly released Artrage Vitae Moblie!
James Julier : Procreate Landscape Painting
James Julier specializes in Procreate landscape painting and in this session he will guide you through his process, enabling you to successfully produce the effects of realism using his simple and logical approach. James Procreate Youtube tutorials have millions of views and now at MDAC 2021, we get to see him live. He will cover useful tips and tricks of procreate and guide you through some cool brush features. After his session, your procreate skills will be at another level :-)

Draw & Be Drawn: The Art of Live Portrait Sketching
In this class you will learn a loose, expressive approach to sketching a portrait using the Procreate app on the iPad from direct observation of a live subject via Zoom. In the first half of this session Jeremy shares his workflow, tips and techniques, and leads you through different art exercises, working with a professional model. You'll learn how to work with varying combinations of line, shade and color in capturing the essence of your subject. In the second half we get to apply everything we've learned and experience drawing other students in the class and being drawn. There will be a class Padlet available for everyone to post their artworks and allowing subjects to download their portraits. Besides being fun and educational, this class will equip you with the knowledge, skill and framework to continue enjoying exploring live portrait sketching as part of your art practice

Photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in ordinary things, ordinary people, and ordinary places. Learn to add depth and emotion to your photographs through apping. Snapseed and Distressed FX Plus.
Adria will introduce us to easy apps that will allow you to take better quality photographs. The bulk of the time will then be spent using Snapseed and Distressd FX Plus to add vintage painterly effects to a photograph.
