Travel

If you are flying, you can fly to any for the three airports serving the San Francisco Bayarea. Palo Alto is at the heart of Silicon Valley. 

San Francisco International Airport
San Jose International Airport
Oakland International Airport

Most convenient however is SFO or SJC   

Hotel

Exhibition will be at Pacific Art League in Palo Alto Downtown.  Conference will be at TechCode in Mountain View, CA (about 7 miles from Pacific Art League). If you are coming out of town, it would be perfect to stay near the buzzing Mountain View Downtown.  TechCode location is perfect, close to many attractions, and you can walk to many downtown locations/restaurants.
